Pressure washing wood at wrong PSI causes permanent damage. Split boards, raised grain, and stripped wood fibers are the result of too much pressure or too close a nozzle. Our wood-safe soft-wash and calibrated low-pressure method cleans deeply without destroying the surface.

Our Deck & Fence Cleaning Process

1

Surface Assessment

Wood species, finish type, and current condition assessed. Soft-wash or low-pressure method selected based on surface.

2

Pre-Treatment

Wood-safe cleaning solution applied to loosen mold, algae, and tannin stains without raising grain.

3

Low-Pressure Wash

Calibrated low-pressure rinse removes cleaning solution and loosened grime — never high-pressure that splits boards.

4

Rinse & Neutralize

Full surface rinse removes all chemical residue. Wood surface pH neutralized where needed before sealing.

5

Ground Cleanup

All debris and runoff managed. Surrounding plants and surfaces protected throughout the process.

6

Condition Report

Cracked boards, failing posts, rot, and hardware issues documented in written report.

Frequently Asked Questions

What PSI do you use on wood decks?
We use 500–1,200 PSI for wood decks depending on species, board condition, and finish type. Soft-wash solution does most of the cleaning work, and low pressure rinses it away. We never use high-pressure (2,500+ PSI) on wood — it raises grain, splits boards, and permanently damages the surface.
Do you clean composite decks like Trex?
Yes. Composite decks require even lower pressure than wood — typically 500–800 PSI — with a composite-safe cleaning solution. We do not use bleach or chlorine-based cleaners on composite materials as they can discolor or degrade the surface.
Should I seal my deck after cleaning?
Yes — and cleaning is required before sealing for the stain or sealant to bond properly. We clean and prep the surface, and if you plan to stain, we recommend doing so within a week of cleaning while the wood is fully dry and pores are open.
Can you remove all the green algae and black mold?
Yes in almost all cases. Green algae and surface black mold respond very well to our pre-treatment solution and low-pressure wash. Deep-set mold on weathered, unsealed wood may require a second treatment on particularly affected boards.
How often should a deck be professionally cleaned?
Once per year is the standard recommendation for most decks in Central Arkansas. Decks under heavy tree canopy or in consistently shaded areas may benefit from twice-yearly treatment due to accelerated algae growth. Fences typically need cleaning every 1–2 years.
